Watch: Devin Haney and Geroge Kambosos lock eyes in an intense face-off before their iconic showdown on Saturday

Devin Haney and George Kambosos will fight at the Marvel Stadium this weekend

George Kambosos and Devin Haney will face off for all the glory in boxing’s lightweight division when they face off at the iconic Marvel Stadium in George’s home country of Australia. Both Haney and Kambosos are undefeated in their professional career and come Saturday someone’s zero has got to go.

Kambosos will be making his first defense of the WBA, WBO, IBF, and Ring Lightweight Titles against Haney. Ferocious George won the titles after he outclasses former Champion, Teofimo Lopez in their clash back in November of 2021. Lopez had just prior won the belts from longtime champion, Vasyl Lomachenko and hence has put the stability of the lightweight division in panic.

While both Lopez and Lomachenko will be closely watching the fight Saturday, no one has more to gain than Devin Haney. The 27-0 Lightweight will be stepping into hostile territory when he enters the Marvel stadium in Melbourne this weekend. The American who is one of the few representing his country at the top of boxing will have to defend his WBC Lightweight title against Kambosos. With the last 4 of his fights ending in a Unanimous decision victory for the 23-year-old, fireworks or flashy knockouts are not something to be expected.

However, what can be expected is a toe to toe battle between two of the fastest and hottest fighters in boxing’s lightweight division. While Kambosos has fought around the world in his almost decade-long career, this will be the first fight of Haney’s life not taking place in the north American continent.

At the faceoffs thing got quite intense, however, they didn’t need to get physical to create that environment. As soon as they locked eyes on the stage it was a mental battle of who would break first. Both Haney and Kambosos seemed to be looking into the other’s soul. The staredown lasted for more than a minute with Haney breaking eye contact first.

If body language is anything to go by Kambosos certainly seems to have the upper hand in knowing there will be a stadium filled with upwards of 50000 people all going Rabid for him. The fight takes place on June 4th in Melbourne Australia.
