Floyd Mayweather gives a magnificent nod to Conor McGregor saying they’re the “A-Side” in every business transaction
Conor has called for a rematch with Mayweather on his return to action
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor were bonded in eternity when they shared the ring for 30 minutes all the way back in 2017. That along with the almost half a billion dollars the two personally netted goes a long way when it comes to creating connections that last forever.
The two have gone on verbal spats against each other in the past, even after their fight but one thing they can’t deny each other anymore is legitimacy as two of the greatest salesmen in the history of Combat.
To refresh your memory, it was little over 5 years ago today that McGregor and Mayweather shared the ring in a fight titled simply, “The Money Fight” in a cross-promotional nightmare for the ages. The event was handled by Showtime Boxing, TMT Promotions, Zuffa and McGregor Promotions to name only the big players.
Despite the fight being dismissed as a cakewalk for Floyd, the amount of PPV it sold made up for everything else, landing just short of beating the record for Mayweather vs Pacquiao. Not bad for someone making their boxing debut.
Floyd Mayweather says he and Conor McGregor can ask for anything they want
Floyd and Conor have come a long way from the only pettiness of 2017 and now share a mutual respect for each other. This is in no small part due to McGregor’s own incredible success since that fight, where he’s been able to build his empire to a near £200 million estate.
At a recent Press Conference for his upcoming fight Floyd gave a subtle nod to McGregor while praising himself that did not go unnoticed. Mayweather is scheduled to face Japanese MMA Star from Rizin fame, Mikuru Asukara who holds a record of 16-3-1.

With the event being held under the Rizin banner, undoubtedly some had questions about if the bout would be an MMA fight or just boxing, Floyd’s reply encapsulated his entire attitude towards the later stage of his career and exhibition fights.
He said, “If Rizin wanted me to do MMA they would have paid for MMA. They paid for boxing. Remember I’m the A-side. So, when you’re the A-side you call all the shots.” It was after this comment that Mayweather compared Conor to be on the same level as him saying, “I bust my ass & work extremely hard to be the boss. No different from Conor McGregor. Floyd Mayweather is always the boss.”
On a similar note, both Conor and Floyd have expressed an interest in facing each other in a boxing rematch. Do you think the money fight gets remade? Let us know!
