Both are titans in their sport, and the hype around the fight after its announcement is at its peak. Earlier this January, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed Francis Ngannou’s return to the boxing ring. Ngannou will fight former heavyweight titleholder Anthony Joshua in a 10-round heavyweight contest. The fight will take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this March. According to Forbes, Anthony Joshua will, as per estimates, earn $50 million. Meanwhile, Francis Ngannou is expected to earn $20 million and this is before PPV sales.

Ngannou’s reputation in boxing is growing. His last boxing crossover earned him a $10 million purse. Francis Ngannou made his boxing debut against Tyson Fury in an electric showdown in 2023. Tyson Fury defeated Francis Ngannou via split decision in Saudi Arabia. Two judges scored the fight in favor of Fury, while a third judge scored it for Ngannou. Francis Ngannou even managed to drop Tyson Fury to the canvas in the third round, shocking fans worldwide. Combined, Ngannou and Joshua will together get paid a total of over $ 70+ million for the fight.

Ngannou signed a multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in 2023. Ngannou’s PFL contract guarantees a jaw-dropping baseline salary. Ngannou has said he will earn more than $10 million per fight during his PFL tenure. That is a significant increase from his previous earnings in the UFC.
