What entertained the fans even more was the dance of Ngannou before Fury on the canvas. Renowned MMA journalist Ariel Helwani had something to say about the dance on social media.

Nobody expected an iconic performance from Ngannou against Fury. Against all odds, Ngannou scored a knockdown over Fury and even took the Gypsy King to a split decision. Many within the combat sports community applauded the performance of Francis Ngannou, a.k.a. The Predator. The iconic moment of the dance was captured and circulated widely on the internet. After the knockdown in the 3rd round, Ngannou was hit by Fury’s Elbow in the 6th round. The referee missed the controversial elbow strike, and many on social media have called it intentional. Moreover, Ngannou attempted a Superman punch on Fury. Had it landed, it would have for sure knocked Fury unconscious.

Ngannou will shift his focus to MMA with the PFL, and Fury will look to square off with Oleksandr Usyk later this year or early next year. Usyk faced off with Fury inside the ring after the bout. Ngannou’s performance was the best one out of all the MMA fighters’ performances in crossover boxing. It’s also worth noting that Ngannou knocking Fury down shouldn’t come as a surprise. This is because Ngannou possessed immense power and was coached for the bout by none other than Mike Tyson.
