After the controversial decision win for Tyson Fury, everyone wanted to know if they would get a rematch. Tyson Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, was recently present at The MMA Hour. There he said:
Tyson told me that he wants the rematch, and I know Ngannou wants it, because after the fight we were out there, we met at His Excellency's house and we had quite a lengthy conversation. Francis Ngannou was the underdog going into the fight against Tyson Fury. However, he shocked the world as he secured the only knockdown of the entire fight. Ngannou knocked down Tyson Fury in the third round. Despite the knockdown, Fury won the bout by a controversial split decision. One judge scored the fight 95-94 in favor of Ngannou, who delivered the impactful knockdown. The decision sparked debate over the outcome.
Francis Ngannou was the former UFC heavyweight champion. He has a professional MMA record of 17 wins and three losses. Ngannou left the UFC due to contract disputes. Dissatisfied with the terms offered by the UFC, Ngannou became a free agent after failing to reach a new deal, resulting in the stripping of his heavyweight title in January of 2023.
