Tyson Fury has made plenty of headlines this week as he fired shots at Francis Ngannou ahead of his fight with Anthony Joshua. The fight is set to take place on March 8 in Saudi Arabia and promises to be another thrilling clash between two heavyweights. As such, Fury decided to visit Saudi Arabia to witness the ‘Knockout Chaos’ event, especially since his brother is fighting in the undercard. The WBC champion made several comments about how Ngannou should be grateful to him during his interviews.
Hence, Fury took credit for Ngannou becoming a multi-millionaire and securing bigger fights after their clash in October. Ngannou didn’t take it too well, as expected, and decided to do something about it himself. Subsequently, Francis Ngannou began heckling Fury at the recent press conference as Fury sat in the front row. Furthermore, Ngannou stated:
You better stay five meters away before I stop your s*** because if I lose it, you’re going to have a really bad time, my friend.Francis Ngannou at the pre-fight press conference
Ngannou fired back at Fury initially by stating that he had already defeated Fury once and would again do so. This prompted Fury to yell from the crowd towards Ngannou, suggesting that he was defeated in their last fight.
After Fury yelled from the crowd, Ngannou responded by stating that he could wipe the floor with Fury inside the Octagon. Ngannou also stated that the rules of boxing protect Fury and reminded him not to get on his bad side.
Tyson Fury’s predictions for Joshua vs. Ngannou
On May 18, Fury will take on undefeated heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk. Their first fight was called off due to an injury sustained by Fury during his training camp. Subsequently, Fury recently revealed that there is a rematch clause so that he will be fighting Usyk back-to-back.
However, after that, Fury revealed that the winner of the Joshua vs. Ngannou fight would be able to challenge the undisputed champion. Furthermore, the undefeated WBC champion shared his prediction for the main event of ‘knockout chaos’. Since Fury has shared the ring with Ngannou, he is aware of his durability and power.
Hence, Fury believes that Ngannou is a tough boxer and can take shots. However, he dismissed the idea that Joshua had a glass jaw and said that he was a two-time champion. As such, Fury stated that if any one of them connected properly, it could lead to a KO.
