“Gonna have to dig deep”- Frank Warren’s message to everybody who wants to host the mega fight, Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury
After the fighters verbally agreed to fight each other, Tyson Fury promoter, Frank Warren in a recent interview confirmed the same.
During a discussion with iFL TV, Warren revealed that the fight is going to take place and it is going to be huge. Warren explained that the two best heavyweights fighting to be an undisputed champion is the biggest event in recent times. Warren revealed that due to the significance of the fight, any country which wants to host it will have to put in a lot of effort. He said:
“It doesn’t get any better, This is a blue-ribbon event … world boxing heavyweight championship for the four belts to find out who’s the best heavyweight on the planet. These things happen very, very rarely. And if a country or somebody wants to host this event, they’re gonna have to dig deep.”
Warren mentioned that the fight can’t take place in the UK as the schedule doesn’t match. However, the 70-year-old revealed that they have several options and will choose the one with the best chances for revenue generation.
“We can’t get the fight over here (in the UK) until next spring at the earliest, because if it were to go on over here it would have to be at Wembley,” said Warren. “we want to get it away before the end of the year … there have been interests from various places and we’ll go where the money is.“
According to Warren, the fight is easy to fight as the fighters are ready; however, they are just waiting for the best opportunity to earn money.
“There aren’t any politics or TV in the way of this, It’s a much easier fight [to make]. The only thing that is going to be an issue is where we generate the most money from,” said Warren.
The Usyk vs Tyson fight is going to be humongous given both the fighters are currently in their prime. Surely, the promoters have a lot of options as this is a great possibility to earn a lot of money for everybody.
