After the fight, he was convicted in June and remained in prison for about 44 days. “Tank” didn’t have to go to jail initially because he took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to four traffic violations. He was involved in a car accident in November 2020 that injured four people. In addition, less than a month after his conviction, Davis was sent to prison as he violated the conditions of his home detention and was sentenced to serve the remainder of his sentence.
He was let go in July and has since planned to return to the ring at the beginning of 2024. Furthermore, since he was arrested, Davis is back at the gym after his long gap, even though he will not return to action until 2024. Subsequently, Davis appears sharp despite missing action inside the gym. Davis will look to get back in shape and compete in early 2024.

After years of back and forth, Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia finally took place on Saturday, April 22, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In a battle of unbeaten boxers, ‘Tank’ emerged victorious, striking Garcia in the 7th round with a devastating body shot.
Davis did not have much trouble against Garcia. He started to dominate in the early rounds. Davis also knocked down Garcia with a counter hook. Fundamentally, Garcia was not as superior as Davis. Tank used this aspect of his game to outclass Garcia across seven rounds. Eventually, a powerful bodyshot stunned Garcia, and he could not continue.
Furthermore, both fighters received an immense fighter’s purse from the catchweight match, according to a report from Sportspayouts. Davis, the regular lightweight champion of the WBA, received a guaranteed $5 million purse and 50% of PPV shares for the fight.
