Cherneka Johnson is ready to defend her IBF championship. Johnson will defend her title against Ellie Scotney. Before that, the OnlyFans-sponsored IBF champion showcased an unusual way of stepping onto the scale. Cherneka decided not to give any chance to the media to question her weight. Hence, she decided not to wear her sports bra to make weight without fail. Wearing clothing may increase the weight on the scale.
The New Zealand-born fighter Cherneka Johnson will defend her title at Wembley Arena in London this Saturday. But before making her way to the ring, the now-representing Australian IBF champion got attention with a bold look. Cherneka chose to paint her body with the OnlyFans logo for the sponsorship. Combat sports fans have seen many weigh-in fiascos, but this one was unique.
Ellie Scotney came first to step on the weight scale; after that, the IBF champion followed. Johnson stepped onto the scale before the ceremonial face-off. Scotney looked focused during the face-off, but the champion enjoyed the moment. Cherneka thoroughly enjoyed the whole sequence and confidently came out of the weigh-in.
This is not the first time fans have witnessed something this bold during a weigh-in. Many female fighters have recently joined the online paid content-sharing website OnlyFans. It has now become a trend to find new ways of earning through sports and other platforms. Earlier, Ebanie Bridges, one of the OnlyFans model boxing fighters, was seen with former UFC champion Conor McGregor.
Cherneka Johnson is all set to defend the IBF title against Ellie Scotney
Johnson won the belt in April of 2022, which she has defended once so far. She will defend her title for the second time against Scotney. Scotney has not lost any challenges and has a 5-fight win streak.
At London’s Wembley this weekend, it will be a vast career-altering moment for both fighters. Johnson will defend the title on one side, and Scotney will defend her streak on the other. The undefeated English boxer will look to make a significant turnaround in the super-bantamweight division. The only thing that analysts believe can hurt Ellie is her lack of experience.
IBF super-bantamweight champion Cherneka Johnson started her professional boxing career in 2016 and secured 15 wins. The only loss she suffered was against Shannon O’Connell on March 13, 2021. It was a split decision loss, and she lost the chance to win the vacant WBA Gold female bantamweight title.
