Many people have shown apprehension and disinterest in the upcoming fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. People’s main concern about the fight remains the unfair 30-year age gap between the fighters. Paul is just 27 years old and an active boxer, but 57-year-old Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2005. Hence, this has caused the fight to receive a lot of backlash from the combat sports world. Similarly, UFC mega-star Conor McGregor expressed similar thoughts about the fight.
McGregor stated that he did not understand it. However, he wished Mike Tyson well and hoped he would knock Paul out. Furthermore, the UFC star stated a disinterest in the fight. These comments, of course, went viral and even got Paul’s attention recently. As such, Paul responded to McGregor’s comments and stated:
There’s no reason to be jealous. I get that people are jealous, but when the old heads like Conor are still trying to hate.Jake Paul via BS with Jake Paul podcast
Paul continued to attack the Irishman. He said McGregort’s last fight against Dustin Poirier had about a thousand articles written in one day. However, the young boxer claimed ten thousand articles were written on the same day about his fight against Tyson. Hence, Paul believed that his fight with Tyson was a much bigger event and caused ‘old heads’ like McGregor to express jealousy.
In addition, ‘The Problem Child’ believed this fight remains much bigger than the Floyd Mayweather vs. McGregor event. Jake Paul has always taunted McGregor on numerous occasions. One can always remain in the public limelight by taunting or insulting Conor McGregor. It is safe to say Jake Paul has done it to a pretty good effect.
