“He is very beatable”- Jake Paul lobbies for a fight against Canelo Alvarez
Jake Paul warns Canelo Alvarez
Jake Paul has always been vocal about his intentions to fight Alvarez for a long time now. Paul has successfully catapulted himself from a youtuber to one of biggest names in current boxing scenario. Fans who were previously making fun of him are now convinced that he is not someone who is here to joke around. This change happened when Paul dropped Tyron Woodley in their second fight.
When Canelo was asked about fighting Paul, the Mexican had a rather shocking as well as positive response. He said :
“No, he’s not crazy. He’s fine, dreaming of something. You need to put goals in mind and dream. It’s ok.”
But at the same time, Alvarez wants Paul to have a few more professional fights and get better as a boxer. Nevertheless, it seems like Alvarez is ruling out the potential fight with Paul in future.
“Similar to Bivol” – Jake Paul reveals why he believes Canelo Alvarez would lose to him
Paul recently did an interview with talkSPORT where the boxer shed light on his target opponents for future.
While talking about Canelo Alvarez, Paul mentioned that he is sure that him and Canelo fighting each other is a massive event. Paul claimed that he is confident that he can beat Alvarez. Paul revealed that fans don’t take his opinions seriously but recently Dmitry Bivol showed that Alvarez is not invincible. According to the 26 year old, he has all the similar skills to Bivol which can be used to beat Alvarez. He said :
“I still think Canelo and I is one of the biggest fights to be made in boxing, and I know I could beat him. People laugh at that, but Dmitry Bivol showed he is very beatable and I have a style, range, speed and power similar to Bivol. So, stylistically when you put us in there it’s not going to be a great night for Canelo”
Going into the Bivol fight, Alvarez was the favourite and many didn’t expect the results to be like that. The Russian showed amazing performance and beat the Mexican via unanimous decision. This fight brought a lot of criticism for Alvarez and Paul also tweeted about it.
However, currently Alvarez is set to fight Gennadiy Golovkin on September 17. It will be interesting to see if the multiple division champion ever decides to fight Paul.
