“He wants to renegotiate,” Jake Paul reveals Hasim Rehman Jr fight might be called off

Jake Paul- Hasim Rehman Jr

It seems like Jake Paul is probably not destined to fight next month, with Tommy Fury already unable to fight because of transportation issues, Hasim Rehman Jr might give Paul some business problems. Paul, who was originally scheduled to fight Fury on August 6, 2022 at Madison Square Garden, New York, was now scheduled to fight Rehman Jr, a fighter with even better record than Fury with 12-1 and experience of over 100 amateur fights.

This was the second time that Fury had to pull out of the fight. The last time Fury pulled out was because of a rib injury after which former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley came in to fill the spot in the form of a rematch to avenge his loss to Paul. Unfortunately for Woodley, Paul pulled off the biggest upset in combat sports history and knocked Woodley out in sixth round of their 8 round fight. Paul is so far 5-0 in his overall boxing career with 4 KOs.

Now, as Paul is less than a month away from fighting Rehman Jr, Paul exclusively reveals a shocking news regarding the fight on MMA Fighting’s THE MMA HOUR with Ariel Helwani.

“Some exclusive news for you Ariel,” says Paul Hasim Rehman Jr actually right now is trying to renegotiate his contract. So he signed a contract last week, for 10 times more than he’s ever been paid for any one of his fights. And now, boom! Fast forward one week, he’s trying to renegotiate, he’s trying to more money out of the fight. He’s trying to do anything he can to make the money because I think he realises the consequences of what might happen. I think he is actually scared to fight me. A lot of these guys are excited about the money at first…

And when it actually comes time to start training and getting in the camp and doing all these things, they all chicken out, so who knows if this fight’s gonna happen at this point because we’re not gonna pay him more money. He’s not worth it, he has name but he doesn’t have a massive name so, it’s unfortunate man…” he continues.
