“Probably going to scare him away”- Jake Paul vows to put Conor McGregor on notice with his knockout of Hasim Rahman Jr

Jake Paul and Conor McGregor

Jake Paul, if not successful has been relentless in his call-outs of Conor McGregor. The YouTuber turned boxer has been aiming for a big money fight against the Irishman since the day he turned pro. Now at 5-0, he believes his claims to a McGregor fight are stronger than ever.

In his 5 fight run, Paul had beat a YouTuber, a former NBA champion, and two former MMA champions, and in his next fight will face, Hasim Rahman Jr, the first professional boxer on his record. Jake was originally supposed to fight Tommy Fury, the younger brother of Tyson Fury. However, due to Tommy’s visa issues, the fight fell through for the second time, bumping in Rahman Jr as a last-minute replacement.

Notably, this is also the first opponent Jake has faced that matches up with him in height and physicality. Though the two were formerly sparring partners, the first real test of Jake’s nascent career is quite anticipated. On his way to the press conference for this fight, Jake took out the time to respond to Conor McGregor on his tweets under Jake’s MMA Hour appearance.

Talking about McGregor with WFAN Sports Radio’s Carton & Roberts, Jake said, “If he’s not scared, I’m ready whenever. But he has his boss Dana White that’s in control of him, so he can’t make his own decisions. Even if he wanted to fight me, Dana would have to approve it. I’m my own boss, so I can make my own decisions and can fight whenever I want. After I knock out Hasim Rahman Jr., Conor will be like, ‘Oh wow, this kid can  really fight.’ That’s probably going to scare him away from fighting me.”

Jake concluded by saying, “I’m a professional boxer, no matter how you slice it. I’ve got to prove that on Aug. 6 going up against a professional boxer. But I’ve knocked out UFC champions, superior athletes, sparring in the gym against professional boxers on a daily basis. This is the start of a long career, and I plan on becoming champion of the world one day.”
