“He’s doing it smart” – Joe Rogan lauds Jake Paul’s tactic of fighting MMA fighters with podcast guest Joaquin Buckley

Jake Paul beat Anderson Silva in a highly anticipated boxing bout merely two and a half weeks, and the buzz created from it has carried over into other sporting channels.
Despite a convincing victory, Jake Paul found detractors in his choosing to fight a 47-year-old, who although is an MMA legend, is not a boxer. This was expressed to Joe Rogan by UFC middleweight Joaquin Buckley, who said, “That broke my heart when he [Anderson Silva] lost to Jake Paul. At the end of the day, he’s picking at every MMA [fighter] here.”
He continued, “He’s fighting Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, now Anderson Silva… the name they were talking about was [Nate] Diaz.”, to which Rogan replied by saying, “He’s doing it smart!” Buckley didn’t quite agree with this, saying that “He’s doing it smart but he’s embarrassing all of us. It’s sad because he’s saying all these different things and having these real conversations… but its not a conversation for him to have.”
Joe Rogan had a final retort, saying, “But it is! It helps him get attention. I love what he’s doing… What he’s doing is very intelligent. The promotion is off the chart, he’s hilarious, and he’s winning.”

Joe Rogan gives props to Jake Paul for beating MMA legend Anderson Silva
Despite seeing where the pitfalls lie for MMA in what Jake Paul is doing, Joe Rogan could not hide his praise for the type of things Jake Paul has achieved in an extremely short period of time.
He spoke about it, saying, “You have got to say, Anderson Silva, that’s the most impressive fight that he won. Anderson Silva’s a legend, maybe he’s 47 years old.”
Jake Paul’s career in boxing has been exemplary to date – he has wins over Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren (both of whom he knocked out) and Anderson Silva. He couldn’t knock Silva out but sent the Brazilian flying to the canvas in the final round of the fight. Although it looked like a close affair, Paul had Anderson Silva’s number for much of the fight.
Now, it seems like a fight between Jake Paul and controversial kickboxer Andrew Tate is in the works. At the Mayweather-Deji exhibition bout, the two squared off with each other, and Tate asked Paul if he ‘wanted the smoke’. Prior to that, the two faced off in a boxing gym.
Whether the fight is actually under negotiation, or its but another personal promotional tactic is yet to be seen – if it’s the former, the internet will be divided as to who to support, as both the popular figures are hated.
