Floyd Mayweather retired from the sport of boxing in 2017, and since, has participated in exhibition bouts only – however, those exhibitions have minted him a lot of money, in the process.
His latest fight came against the inexperienced YouTuber-cum-boxer Deji Olatunji, brother of the biggest YouTuber in the UK, KSI. The fight ended via TKO in favour of Floyd Mayweather, who finished the job in the sixth round. Arguably, Deji did not win a single round, in the whole process.
However, a short clip from the middle of the fight has caught the eyes of boxing fans and sports enthusiasts, in general. Just before the end of the round, Mayweather can be seen feinting and delivering a fast jab to Deji, twirling and then going to his corner. Obviously, Deji isn’t a tough opponent at all for the 50-0 American, who has wins over big names like Canelo Alvarez and Conor McGregor, on his resume.
The showboating exemplified by McGregor shouldn’t be taken as a form of disrespect to Deji, however. Post fight, he said, “You’re a hell of a fighter and a hell of a competitor and keep up the great work… Keep building.” [H/T MMAFighting]
