Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao set to come out of retirement after two years to compete in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics

Manny Pacquiao has one of the most impressive resumes in combat sports. However, he did not win an Olympic medal in his career. The Filipino boxing legend has never represented his country in the Olympics. However, it may not be too late as he might qualify for the next year’s tournament in Paris.
Manny Pacquiao was eligible to compete in Rio 2016 because of a recent rule change that let boxers under 40 compete. However, he chose not to do so and continued with his political aspirations in the Philippines. The president of the Philippines Olympic Committee recently announced that Pacquiao wanted to fight in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. In order to be eligible for the Games, Pacquiao will compete in two qualifying tournaments.
Furthermore, they are scheduled to occur in the first quarter and subsequently in the second quarter of 2024. The former world champion will come out of retirement after two years, to compete in the Olympics. Furthermore, his last fight came against Yordenis Ugas, which he lost via decision. It was also his final world title bout.
The Paris Olympics has a noteworthy addition. Furthermore, it is not officially confirmed if Pacquiao will be competing in the early qualifiers for 2024 or if he is ending his retirement. Boxing fans will find out in due time.

Manny Pacquiao’s impressive boing career so far
As an amateur boxer, Manny Pacquiao honed his skills before building his legacy as a pro. His amateur boxing career began when he made the Philippines National Amateur Boxing Team during his teen years. Pacquiao was struggling financially then, so the boxing organization provided him with free lodging and guidance.
Pac-Man then went on to excel as an amateur, and he had a record of 60-4. Subsequently, he turned pro in 1995 and won his first fight via unanimous decision over Edmund Enting Ignacio. He won his first 11 fights before losing to a tough fighter named Rustico Torrecampo, but that didn’t stop him from getting better and better. From 1995 to 2021, Pac-Man went on to become one of the most decorated boxers in history. Furthermore, people later recognized him as one of the best southpaw boxers ever.
The Filipino icon held numerous records in his career, including being the only boxer ever to win 12 world championships in eight different weight classes. He could potentially come out of retirement to compete in the Paris Olympics.
