“Boxing and fighting started in the gutter,” said Mike Tyson. He continued, “I don’t care if it’s celebrity now, that’s where it comes from.” “This is entrepreneurship now. This is not about my ego, how tough I am. This is a thinking man’s sport. It’s not a tough guy’s sport. Tough guys are gonna end up talking funny at the end of the day and do nothing. You have to look at it like a business and be entrepreneurs,” said Mike Tyson referencing the current business of the sport.
During Tyson’s prime, heavyweight boxing thrived. The former heavyweight champion feels as if there are no actions implemented in modern-day boxing. However, the business of the sport had always witnessed corruption and politics regardless of time.
