Mike Tyson revealed that his 2009 appearance in the Hangover was a surprise to him as he was doing drugs at the time. Tyson, a former heavyweight champion of the world, was cast in the comedy film, directed by Ryan Gosling and starring Bradley Cooper. In a Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast with rapper Eminem, Tyson discussed his experience with The Hangover film.

The boxing legend said, “Back then, we are coked up and drinking during a night out in Las Vegas.” This is when he bumped into the Olsen Twins, and they told him about the movie. At that time, Tyson’s lifestyle was dictated by drug influence, so he had no idea that he was about to be part of it. Tyson says that he felt happy to be a part of the movie once he learned about it.

This is because Mike Tyson was in pretty bad shape back then, as he was overweight, weighing a total of 280 pounds. While describing himself in that phase, he called himself a pig high on cocaine. In addition, Tyson has previously discussed his use of drugs and admitted to doing the same during the production of the film. He does not remember much, and according to him, the people in the set knew that he was high.

This is because he was barely able to talk, and he would let the ‘cocaine talk’.  In the film’s most iconic sequence, the boxer scores a knockout punch on Galifianakis‘ character, Alan. The film went on to achieve massive success, which came as a pleasant surprise for Tyson, who was showered with love by the fans.
