Rogan discussed this rare and unique occurrence in boxing history and its significance with Diaz. Subsequently, Diaz stated:

They weren't ready for Ali in the 60s. When he’s not playing with your head like that, they just weren’t ready for him.

This match, which occurred on February 25, 1964, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, left an indelible mark on the sport. As the bell rang, the atmosphere in the arena was electric. Liston, the favorite to win, started the fight aggressively, aiming to overpower Ali. However, Ali’s lightning-fast footwork and ability to evade punches proved to be game-changers. Ali’s strategy, later known as the “rope-a-dope,” involved taunting Liston and absorbing his punches while conserving energy.

The fight unexpectedly turned out in the sixth round when Liston injured his shoulder. Unable to continue, Liston threw in the towel, declaring Ali the victor. This shocking outcome astonished fans and critics, forever etching this fight into boxing history.
