The former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder’s career has taken a slight dip in recent years since losing his championship to Tyson Fury. Now it seems Deontay Wilder is trying to rejuvenate his career and he is wanting to try something different.

Deontay Wilder fell from the top after losing back-to-back fights to Tyson Fury.  He lost more than just his championship to Tyson. Tyson snapped Wilder’s 42-match undefeated streak and also shattered his confidence. However, Wilder now is trying to take his career in a new direction.

I’m still part of PBC. I’m just an open agent, open fighter. I want to fight on all types of platforms, I’m willing to work with anyone.”

Tyson fury has currently Oleksandr Usyk on his radar in a battle to become the Undisputed Heavyweight championship of the world. However, if the match with Usyk failed to materialize there can be a Fury vs Wilder on the cards.

Tyson’s dad has reflected on the potential match-up with Wilder. He believes a fourth match could be more one-sided and Wilder can be left destroyed. He said, “I’m worried about him fighting Wilder because I’m afraid of him killing Wilder. Wilder’s got a cracked skull, his skull is cracked like an egg. That kind of thing can’t be repaired so if Tyson hits him again he could kill him.”

He further explained that if he was in the shoes of Deontay Wilder he would consider retiring from the sport together rather than risking his health. Deontay has already taken serious damage to his skull during his previous fights with wilder. Deontay Wilder is currently going to face Andy Ruiz after his match with Antony Joshua failed to materialize.
