The saga of Tyson Fury’s latest “will he won’t he” behavior when it comes to his status as a boxer has just received its latest update. Fury’s team announced that he would be making his return to the ring against fellow Brit, Derek Chisora, an agreement that lasted in the public sphere for less than an hour.
Yes, as soon as the bout was announced as being the next targeted fight in Fury’s itinerary, it was called off as still being in the negotiation stages. In the last 30 days, Fury has jumped ship from wanting to fight Usyk, Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora, Manuel Charr and now Chisora again.
The most outrageous fact about this fight, apart from Chisora having announced his retirement just a few weeks ago, is that the two have already squared off in the ring, twice. In these 22 rounds, Fury out-landed Chisora in 21 of them, making the sheer meaninglessness of this fight to a new extreme.
Fan’s react to Tyson Fury backing out of contract negotiations against Derek Chisora
Fans who were fed up with Fury refusing to vacate his title were now infuriated by the fact that he kept walking out of contract negotiations. His bluff was first called by AJ when Fury demanded a super fight between them to go through the negotiations in less than 8 days. With a 60-40 split favoring Fury, it’s no wonder why he would want the contract to be signed and sealed at first light.
Even more, fans were quick to point out that the reason given by Fury’s team for the AJ fight to fall through was issues with his management team. This would’ve made sense had Fury not made a public call out to Chisora, who is under the same management team.
