Gervonta Davis is currently one of the best boxers on the planet holding multiple championship titles in various weight classes. Davis has earned a reputation for possessing one of the deadliest punches. His record of 25 knockout wins in 27 matches has been a testament to his power.
Davis was born in a crime-ridden area in West Baltimore. He started his boxing training at five years old at Upton Boxing center. Signs of his talent were already visible from a very young age. He had a very impressive amateur career capturing many national championships.
Recently journalist Michael Benson shared a clip of Gervonta Davis from his childhood days. In the video, Gervonta Davis can be seen landing a punch on his opponent’s face during a training session. Michael posted with a caption, “Gervonta Davis possessed a powerful southpaw left hand even when he was just six years old.”
Gervonta made his professional debut back in 2013 and has since gone on to be undefeated in 27 matches. The 28-year-old has managed to capture several championships on his way to becoming one of the best fighters in the world. He is set to face another undefeated boxer Hector Luis Garcia before facing Ryan Garcia in April of this year.
Hector Garcia sets of eyes on his next opponent after facing Gervonta Davis

2022 was a very successful year for Hector Luis Garcia. Defeating the likes of Chris Colbert and Roger Gutierrez on the way to becoming the WBA super featherweight champion. Ahead of his fight with Gervonta Davis, he has already spoken about his next fight.
Although Gervonta Davis is set to face Ryan Garcia next in April, Hector believes he will get hands-on Ryan Garcia before Gervonta. Hector wants to get revenge for Javier Fortune by defeating Ryan. Speaking to BOXING SCENE he said, “Will give him a lesson on Dominican boxing. Ryan does more talking than boxing. If he spent half as much time in the gym as he does talking, he would be Floyd Mayweather, Muhammad Ali, and Roberto Duran wrapped into one”.
Hector seems pretty confident facing Gervonta Davis and thinks he can do enough to defend his unbeaten streak. Hector has been on a 19-match unbeaten run since his debut back in 2016. The Dominican has the WBA super featherweight belt and would be looking forward to capturing the WBA lightweight title from Gervonta Davis. However, Davis is certainly aiming to lock horns against none other than Ryan Garcia later this year after facing Hector.
