Mike Heck who was there at the event, got to know from Silva that he was disappointed with Ortiz missing weight. But, ‘The Spider’ divulged that the fight would go ahead on the 11th of September as planned.

Mike Heck’s Tweet read: “Just spoke with Anderson Silva. While he was disappointed Tito Ortiz missed weight, he said the fight will move forward tomorrow from his end. Interview coming to @MMAFighting shortly.

Silva is coming off a win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June this year. The UFC legend put on a stunning striking display to win a close fight via split decision in Chavez Jr’s own backyard. This was Silva’s first boxing fight in almost 16 years. His record currently reads 2 wins and 1 loss.

Ortiz, on the other hand, will be making his professional boxing debut. He is also coming off a bitter personal life experience after stepping down as the Mayor of Huntington Beach. Ortiz will be looking forward to burying the ghosts of his troubled recent past to rest, come the 11th of September.
