“The public can be so fickle”- Tommy Fury gets candid about the flak he’s received for pulling out of Jake Paul fight

Tommy Fury had to pull out from his boxing match against Jake Paul because of an injured rib and chest infection. Tommy is a professional boxer, and many expected him to knock Jake out in their fight, but fans were left disappointed and Jake went on to face Tyron Woodley in a rematch.
Woodley started off really well in the rematch, but he got knocked spark out, and now he’s called out every famous fighter from the UFC roster. Jake is now 5-0 in his professional career, and he is yet to face a professional boxer. Tommy was down to book this fight again, but Jake isn’t interested.
Talking about Tommy in his post-fight interview, Jake said, I’m ready to fight whoever doesn’t matter if he is a professional boxer or five times UFC champion, I don’t care, I’m built for it. That’s what I showed tonight. Tommy Fury is lucky that he wasn’t in there tonight, because Tyron’s way tougher, he has that experience. Tommy would have looked a lot worse than that because that was pretty bad.

Tommy had a great camp preparing for this fight but nothing went as planned, he talked about dealing with a lot of hate after this incident, during his recent interview with Queensberry Promotion, he said, “Going on social media, every message is terrible. Going out in public, I went to the corner shop for water to fill the fridge up, ‘Oh you p***y.’ That’s what I’ve had. Some of the public can be so fickle.”
This isn’t the first time an athlete is getting slammed for not living up to their expectations. Dealing with such hate can be really hard for anyone, Tommy’s brother and legendary boxing heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury dealt with some serious mental issues, and he must be supporting his brother in these tough times.
