“Just clout chasing now” – 260-pound bodybuilder Bradley Martyn calls out Israel Adesanya over Jake Paul party story

A war of words recently erupted between former UFC middleweight king Israel Adesanya and muscle-bound social media star Bradley Martyn. It all stemmed from Adesanya’s recent comments about Martyn. He alleged that Martyn was trying to goad him into a backyard boxing match at a party hosted by Jake Paul.

These accusations didn’t sit well with the beefy Martyn, who took to X to defend his name. He posted a screenshot of an old DM he sent Israel Adesanya. This simply stated that he’d “love to shoot some stuff” if Izzy was back in LA. He accused Adesanya of clout chasing and fired back on X.

[Cap]..who said it? You mean this night? All I was doing was showing you love. Fighters sounding hurt. I guess we all just clout chasing now.

Martyn accused the UFC star of fabricating tales to gain popularity. Bradley Martyn, however, is known for comparing himself to professional fighters and debating whether he could beat them. The bodybuilder recently pondered if fighters like Demetrious Johnson and Sean O’Malley could beat him up based on his bodybuilder physique alone. This comparison to professional fighters had caused quite an outrage among the combat sports community. 

Martyn didn’t take the “clout chasing” insults lying down. He had craved the opportunity of stepping into real combat competitions for years now. An ongoing beef with the renowned Adesanya will not give him a chance to compete. At the moment, it will not happen under any major promotions and will require some influencer-MMA cards to perform.

Israel Adesanya claims Bradley Martyn wanted to fight him

Israel Adesanya recently fired scorching shots at bodybuilder Bradley Martyn. It seemed the social media influencer allegedly tried to goad Adesanya into a backyard boxing match a few years back. However, Adesanya did not let it happen.

Adesanya recently spoke with Demetrious Johnson on the Mighty Gaming YT channel. He spilled all the tea about a party hosted by Jake Paul back in 2020’s COVID times. According to Izzy, he got word that Martyn wanted to “get him in the ring.” The ring was bizarrely set up in Paul’s backyard, but Adesanya swiftly shut it down.

There's a ring in the backyard and I got word through someone that, 'oh, this guy is trying to get Izzy in the ring' and I said, 'nah, I'm just here to have fun, I ain't doing none of that.' And it was him [Bradley Martyn]. Some people aren't even man enough to wash the jock [straps] we fight in.

Some social media influencers tend to take a dim view of looking for easy “clout” by coaxing fighters into unsanctioned fights. However, in the case of Adesanya and Martyn, it doesn’t seem to be the case. The DM indicates it was not even sparring or competing that Martyn wanted. It appeared more like an interview on Martyn’s YT channel than a fight. Adesanya has not responded back to Martyn yet in the ongoing beef.
