Ahead of the 2025 season, LIV Golf has made some big announcements. On Thursday, the league informed that they have agreed on a multi-year broadcasting deal with Fox. This lead to golf analyst Brandel Chamblee once again taking a shot at the breakaway tour.
Since the establishment of the league, Chamblee has had strong views against LIV Golf. Many times he has attacked them and criticized their backers, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia.
The announcement of the broadcasting deal on social media sparked a reaction from Chamblee on X. He would claim that he was “looking forward” to the specific financial details of the deal.
Looking forward to the specific financials… did Fox pay a rights fee or was this another time buy. https://t.co/iJ2bxdgasY

This saw a user ask him why he cared so much. While another user interacted on this topic, the first user pointed out that they had never seen Brandel Chamblee cover LIV in a positive manner.
This saw the Golf Channel analyst taking a shot at LIV Golf. He claimed that the money of the league came from “sewer” and that their product “stinks”.
Why would anyone who is not being paid to obscure their objectivity “cover”

LIV in a positive manner. The money comes from the sewer and the product stinks worse than the source. https://t.co/kwdATCrlQy
In June 2023, Chamblee dropped a bold comment regarding LIV Golf. He claimed that working with them was like working with a “murderous dictator”. He would even attack stars like Phil Mickelson and Jon Rahm, slamming the latter for joining them on a $600 million deal in December 2023.
As I have said many times, LIV Golf is not so much a sports entity as it is MBS / Saudi Arabia trying to hide their atrocities and launder its reputation by buying sports stars. Any yielding to or agreement with them is a deal with a murderous dictator. https://t.co/dGaTYNlWYJ pic.twitter.com/eUxCrLmRTR

New LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil ‘thrilled’ to partner with FOX Sports
A day before LIV Golf’s deal with Fox Sports was announced, the league made a massive change in leadership. Greg Norman stepped down from his post as LIV Golf CEO and was replaced by Scott O’Neil. The new CEO has already started working and admitted to being ‘thrilled” with their partnership with FOX Sports.
In a statement released by LIV Golf, O’Neil said that the league is getting bigger and bolder. He would later thank them for this opportunity.

The events of the 54-hole circuit will now air on Fox, FS1, and other Fox networks. It will also stream from Fox Sports and LIV Golf+ apps. This deal with Fox could also see an increase in viewership of LIV Golf. Last year, despite signing players like Jon Rahm, the league failed to draw viewers.
The new season of LIV Golf will kick off in February next month. The first event will see players travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 6th to 8th February. This year, the events will take place in nine countries with several of them going directly against some PGA Tour signature events.
