The debut episode of Raw on Netflix featured a highly stacked card, including several former world champions. However, one name notably absent from the show was Braun Strowman. The 41-year-old recently provided his fans with an update on his whereabouts in an Instagram post.
Unfortunately, Strowman did not have a good start to 2025. He was lying in his hotel room with a 102 fever for several days after catching a bug. He has started to feel better now after a week, and the body aches he was suffering from have also started to die down. Strowman has only just started to be able to move around.
The tests said that he had caught a very bad case of the flu. This led to him losing over 36 lbs in a week and, unfortunately, him missing out on the first episodes of both Raw and SmackDown of 2025. Strowman will also be missing from TV in the following week but promised to overcome his illness and be back soon.
2024 was also a rough year for Strowman and his health. He was out for most of the year due to an injury but picked up a lot of steam during his feud against Bronson Reed. The former Universal Champion got injured again before becoming a regular member of the SmackDown roster. He had joined forces with Sami Zayn to take on The Bloodline during his last appearance in 2024.
Vince Russo comments on WWE’s use of Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman has had varying degrees of success in his WWE career. He was massively over during the late 2010s and even picked up a Universal Championship victory during this time. However, he has been floating around in the midcard for the past few years.

Speaking on the BroDown Show, Vince Russo said that WWE had changed their minds about Strowman. There was a time when the fans loved him due to the antics he pulled on screen. During a feud with Roman Reigns, he used to be flipping trucks and ambulances on television, much to fans’ amusement.
Something happens and you change your mind with him, then cut him loose. They definitely switched gears on this guy, and he’s not been over for years.
Vince Russo on BroDown
Vince Russo claimed that something had happened, and WWE had changed their mind about him. They switched gears and completely cut him loose from the main event scene. Thus, due to this reduced effort by the promotion, he has not been over with the fans for years either.
