The current crop of WWE talent gunning for perennial recognition has its role models. And for Bron Breakker, one of the company’s most exciting prospects ever, the mountain to scale for him is Roman Reigns. The reigning Intercontinental Champion recently told Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling that The OTC is the greatest of all time in his opinion.

The 27-year-old recalled the spot from this year’s Royal Rumble match where he nailed The Tribal Chief with a vicious spear. Breakker was grateful for getting the opportunity to work with Reigns, though it was transient. Later on, The Unpredictable Badass named Roman as his WWE dream opponent. Bron said he grew up watching the 6-time world champion.

In various wrestling circles, the fans love to draw parallels between Reigns and Breakker. The common link connecting the two is Paul Heyman. In October 2023, Reigns’ Wiseman journeyed to NXT and even had a backstage segment with Bron.

The WWE Hall of Famer told him that he’s worked with his father and uncle, the legendary Steiner brothers. Paul said, by experience, that Breakker has way more to offer than his elders combined. Later that night, the former WCW CEO introduced the current IC Champion on behalf of Reigns.

I grew up watching him you know all through high school and stuff so I mean it was just crazy………

Since then, the WWE Universe has been partially convinced that a day might come when Bron would be unveiled as the new Paul Heyman guy. The 59-year-old is reportedly assisting the former Wolfdogs member with his character and promos, WWE CCO Triple H told the Hollywood Reporter last month.

Roman Reigns in some trouble with WrestleMania clash looming

With merely a couple of weeks until the big dance at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns is in a spot of bother. His Special Counsel Paul Heyman wouldn’t be able to accompany him for his triple threat showdown against CM Punk and Seth Rollins in Las Vegas. On SmackDown, The Best in the World asked Heyman to be in his corner as the favor he’s been owed since Survivor Series 2024.

Punk ultimately grounded Big Uce with a GTS to end the show. After it went off air, the cameras followed Roman to the back with Paul following him. They didn’t talk. However, this Monday on Raw, The Mad Genius will be there to address the fallout. Punk and Rollins are slated to appear as well, but not Reigns.

In fact, The Head of The Table isn’t left with any advertised dates before WrestleMania itself. There’s a big possibility that the 39-year-old is done appearing on WWE television until the D-Day in Sin City on April 19. It’d be interesting to see what Heyman would have to say after going through a tsunami of emotions the last time his Tribal Chief went face-to-face with The Second City Saint.

Roman Reigns’ record-breaking title reign’s closure turns one year old

Exactly a year ago, Roman Reigns‘ empire came crumbling down. A title reign that began in late 2020 came to a satisfying halt at WrestleMania XL. The man who did the unthinkable was none other than Cody Rhodes. He who faced the wrath of getting outnumbered by The Bloodline at the same event in 2023 was backed by the likes of John Cena and The Undertaker.

Cena eliminated Solo Sikoa from the equation, which was preceded by Jey Uso taking care of his twin brother, Jimmy. The Rock met his Waterloo in the form of a certain Deadman as well. Last but certainly not least, Seth Rollins, draped in the Shield’s vest, came unsolicited for the monster he believed was partially his fault—Reigns.

The OTC chose to swing a chair on Seth’s back instead of focusing on Rhodes. That allowed The American Nightmare to deck Roman with a trifecta of Cross Rhodes. And just like that, it was over. The fans hailed it as arguably the greatest ending to a WWE show ever.
