Brooklyn Beckham appeared to make a subtle reference to his ongoing family feud in a new 2026 FIFA World Cup advertisement, joking about watching the tournament from home while other members of the Beckham family attended the high-profile World Cup event in Los Angeles.
The 27-year-old stars in a sponsored campaign for U.S. food delivery company DoorDash during the FIFA World Cup 2026. In the advert, Beckham looks into the camera and says, “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home.” He then smiles before adding, “It’s a long story.”
The commercial goes on to show Brooklyn Beckham placing tickets to a World Cup match on a table, a moment that has attracted attention amid ongoing reports of tensions within the Beckham family.
The advertisement was released as David and Victoria Beckham arrived in Los Angeles, where Brooklyn lives with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. David and Victoria were joined by their younger children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper Beckham, during the trip.
David has played a prominent role in World Cup festivities in the city. The former England captain recently attended the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also present for the United States’ opening World Cup match against Paraguay in Los Angeles. He was joined by actor Tom Cruise and several other notable guests and is expected to attend more matches throughout the tournament.
Brooklyn has not been publicly seen with his parents for several months. Earlier this year, he addressed the family rift in a lengthy Instagram statement following months of speculation surrounding tensions within the Beckham family.
In the post, Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling behavior and claimed they prioritized the “brand Beckham” over family relationships. He also alleged that they repeatedly attempted to undermine his relationship with Nicola Peltz Beckham.
Among his claims, Brooklyn said Victoria Beckham backed out of designing Nicola’s wedding dress ahead of the couple’s 2022 wedding, forcing her to seek another designer. He also alleged that he felt uncomfortable during a moment at the reception when his mother shared a dance with him.
The family dispute has remained in the public eye, with several people connected to the Beckhams discussing the matter in recent months.
Victoria Beckham and DJ Fat Tony address the ongoing family situation
Victoria Beckham recently spoke publicly about the family tensions during an interview with The Wall Street Journal, marking one of her first direct comments on the matter.
She said that she and David Beckham “love our children so much” and have “always tried to be the best parents.”

DJ Fat Tony, whose real name is Tony Marnoch, recently revealed that Brooklyn and Nicola had encouraged him to speak publicly about the situation. Marnoch, who performed at the couple’s wedding in 2022, discussed the feud in an interview with The Telegraph.
Marnoch also shared his perspective on when the disagreement may have intensified. During an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, he said he believed tensions escalated during Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding reception after singer Marc Anthony invited “the most beautiful woman in the room” onto the stage.
According to Marnoch, guests expected Nicola to join Brooklyn for a dance. Instead, Victoria Beckham was called to the stage and danced with her son, an incident Marnoch said left Nicola upset.
Despite the ongoing public attention surrounding the dispute, David and Victoria Beckham remain parents to Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper Beckham. Brooklyn continues to live in Los Angeles with Nicola Peltz Beckham following their marriage in 2022.
