Bulls Coach Billy Donovan reveals honest reaction after a 9-game winning streak

The Chicago Bulls are currently one of the best teams in the league this season. Following their outstanding stats that says 26 wins over just 10 losses in a total of 36 games played, there is no doubt that this team is performing beyond expectations. The team stars Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan are both averaging 26.4 points and 26.5 points this NBA season. They’re even called the new generation of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippin pair of the Bulls.

The Bulls are now standing at the top of the Eastern Conference standings following their 9 game winning streak that hasn’t been crushed until now. Following the game of the Bulls against the Washington Wizards they recorded their 9th consistent win on Friday night. They defeated the Wizards with a 130-122 registering on the final board.

Zach LaVine and Coby White recorded 27 points and 21 points each, contributing in a total of 48 points to the team. It is reported as the longest win streak of the Bulls since the 2010-11 NBA season.

Following the game, in the third quarter, the score got tied at 87 when Lonzo Ball hit a three in just four minutes remaining. In the last quarter when Bulls jumped for 19 points lead when Zach LaVine finished a layup in just 6 minutes remaining in the game.

The head coach Billy Donovon praised the Bulls credibility against the Wizards but he went on to focus more on how much they need to improve following the upcoming games in the league. In the post-game interview when Billy was asked for his response on the 9th game winning streak of the Bulls, he said, “We have to get better. We just have to get better.”

“We’ve got to be better defensively. I thought we did some really good things offensively tonight with our unselfishness and the way we moved and shared the basketball. I think if you spoke to those guys, they would say that we’ve got to keep getting better defensively. We have the capability.”

Though the Bulls are not recognized for their defensive standards, but against the Wizards their improvement was actually seen. The Bulls are now at the first position of the Central Division and it would be interesting to see if they can stretch this 9 game winning streak to that of 10 following their next match against the Dallas Mavericks.
