Olympic Record! Caeleb Dressel Delivers in an Exciting Finish against Kyle Chalmers in Men’s 100m Freestyle

Day 6 of swimming at Tokyo Olympics saw one of the most close and exciting finish between two of the best swimmers in the pool for the race. The men’s 100m freestyle ended in a nail biting finish, as USA’s Caeleb Dressel did not fail to impress, winning the gold medal.

Dressel started off the race with the fastest reaction time and immediately took the lead in the race, with a split time of 22.39s, the fastest of the race. He dominated in the last 50m, but Kyle Chalmers of Australia was right beside him, fighting for the top spot. Chalmers was second behind Dressel for most of the race, and made up some serious ground in the last 50m, threatening Caeleb’s gold medal finish.

Dressel however, was not to be beaten, as he won by a whisker, finishing with a time of 47.02s. Kyle Chalmers was not quite fast enough to touch the wall, and finished in second with a time of 47.08s, in what was a very exciting and close fought race between the American and Australian.

Kliment Kolesnikov took third, as he maintained a steady pace throughout his race, finishing with a time of 47.44s. He was in second place at the 50m mark, with Chalmers behind him, but Chalmers made up a lot of time, leaving Kliment behind, who eventually won the bronze medal.

Caeleb Dressel’s gold medal immediately garnered reactions from everyone on twitter, with several federations and team congratulating his victory.

American Swimmer Kyle Sockwell congratulated Dressel on his big victory.

Many Politicians, journalists and athletes applauded his victory and gold medal.

Caeleb Dressel got emotional as he talked to his family right after winning gold.
