On Friday, the New York Yankees improved to a 2-0 record following their 3-0 win over the San Francisco Giants. Following this win, starting pitcher Cam Schlittler dropped a 4-word message on social media.

The right-handed pitcher had an impressive showing in his rookie year. After joining the Bronx Bombers through a trade in 2022, he made his MLB debut in July last year.

In 14 starts, he went 4-3 in the regular season while posting a 2.96 ERA. He managed to pick up 84 strikeouts in 73 innings.

The 25-year-old also had a strong performance against the Boston Red Sox. In the winner-takes-all Wild Card Series Game 3, the Boston-born pitcher threw 8 scoreless innings and picked up 12 strikeouts.

His overall performance in the last campaign made him an instant hit among the Yankees fans. With Gerrit Cole still out of action, Schlittler was given the responsibility to start the 2nd game of the season for the Yankees after Max Fried took the stage in the season opener.

The pitcher once again dominated the opposition. In his first outing of 2026, he threw 5.1 scoreless innings and gave up just 1 hit. He also managed to pick up 8 strikeouts and gave up zero walks in a dominant performance.

His strong showing helped the Yankees to a 3-0 win. Captain Aaron Judge, who struck out 4 times in the opening game, would crush his first home run of the season to guide his team to victory.

After the victory, Schlittler would make his feelings known on social media. He would take to his X account and drop a 4-word message regarding the critics of the Yankees.

Schlittler is someone who is highly active on social media. Following their Wild Card Series win against the Red Sox, he would take a swipe at a influencer Lucy Burdge.

The social media influencer had shared a picture of her in a Red Sox top and wrote “Sox In 3” in her caption. After their elimination at the hands of Schlittler and the Yankees, the pitcher took a shot at her with a 3-word message.

After losing Game 4 of the American League Division Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, Schlittler would get trolled on social media. He was the losing pitcher in that game.

The pitcher then hit back at the Canadian side after they lost the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. While reacting to a Blue Jays fan breaking their TV, he would drop a laughing GIF in the replies.

After the pitcher threw 5.1 scoreless innings, the bullpen of the team made sure his efforts did not go to waste. Relief pitchers Fernando Cruz, Tim Hill, Camilo Doval and David Bednar combined to throw 3.2 scoreless innings.

This meant a second straight shutout victory for the Yankees. With them winning the season opener with a 7-0 scoreline, this marked the first time in their franchise history that they had started the season with back-to-back shutouts. As for the MLB history, this is the 18th time this has happened.

With the win, the Yankees also take the first series of the season. They will hope to complete the sweep on Saturday before traveling to Seattle to take on the Seattle Mariners.
