‘Without a doubt I would beat him’ – Canelo Alvarez on facing Floyd Mayweather now
Canelo Alvarez believes he can easily beat the ‘current’ version of Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match. To this day Canelo Alvarez has just one loss in his glorious boxing career – against Floyd Mayweather in 2013. He lost the match quite narrowly via. a majority decision. And many people believe that Mayweather was tested to the limit that day.
Speaking in an interview with Univision, Canelo Alvarez revealed how a fight with the boxing great would pan out if he were to face Mayweather now. He said he would beat Money Mayweather without a doubt now, since he has become more mature and complete as a fighter, especially after that loss in 2013.

Alvarez was quoted as saying, “Without a doubt I would beat him, it would be a very different fight. I am a more mature fighter, it would be a totally different fight.” [via DAZN.com]
He then said, “I have more experience, I learned a lot. I said that this was not going to stop me [the loss in 2013], that I would be the best in the world at some point, it hurt a lot because I wanted to win, but only God knows why he does the things he does.” [via DAZN.com]
Alvarez has got his hands full right now. He is scheduled to take on undefeated and WBO titleholder Billy Joe Saunders. The pair or scheduled to fight in a title unification bout on the 8th of May, this year. BJS is 30-0 and Canelo would definitely be wary of that.
As for Mayweather, he is expected to face YouTube star Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing match. The fight which was initially scheduled in February, got shelved due to business side of things.
