The NASCAR Cup Series race last Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway was a nightmare for Carson Hocevar. The Spire Motorsports driver was involved in multiple incidents including an embarrassing formation lap spin, earning him a P19 finish. It was a day to forget for the racer that has already secured his spot in the chase already.
Recently the youngster shared a note on his official Facebook page, with an image of his maiden race with Spire. He highlighted how in three years the same crew had elevated the No:77 Chevy team from a group of back markers scarping for a P33 finish to now race win contenders in the championship chase.
This was when I first sat in a cup car. It didn’t even have my name on the roof rail. The car I got to take over full time the next year was 33rd in points. The same group of guys are still on that car today. Spire has done a great job the last 3 years giving those guys the tools they needed to go from 33rd to being in the chase for the piston cup.

Further in the same note, Carson Hocevar gave all the credit to his Rockstar crew for all the success he has had over the years. He highlighted how they are moving the goal post further every year with their competitive spirit. If the crew continues to deliver on the same pace, in a couple of years, the No:77 driver might become a true championship contender.
My team is a bunch of rockstars and it’s easy for us to want to win more than we have or be higher in points. The reality is that in less than 3 years the guys getting laughed at in 33rd and not taken seriously when they said they have plans to be competitive. They did exactly what they wanted to achieve. Plenty of more years to keep moving the goal post further down the field too.

Carson Hocevar bemoans poor performance at New Hampshire
After the race at Magic Mile, Hocevar talked about his disappointment and misfortune. He admitted that there was no one else but himself to blame for all the incident he was part of and admitted that his car didn’t get damaged in this incident, giving him the opportunity salvage a top-20 finish.

I think I spun myself. He got into me and I thought I was clear or something. I don’t know what I did. I turned left to try and get to the bottom and cover it and I think pretty much spun myself. Luckily, I didn’t kill my car and ruin another week for us. I think I spun myself pretty easily.
Carson Hocevar said.
One of the key reasons behind the Spire Motorsports Chevy drivers’ success in the 2026 season has been the fact that he has been able to consistently secure solid finishes even in challenging days. He did exactly that last Sunday and would be hoping that the same level of consistently would reward him in the long run.
