Chad Gable seemingly returns as a Luchador (via WWE)
The New Day and LWO have been feuding for several weeks now. Their bout on the latest episode of Raw took form in a tornado tag match where Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods took on Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio. This match also featured the return of Chad Gable, although he did not look how he usually does.
Toward the final minutes of the match, a masked man hopped the barricade to deliver a hurricanrana and a flying headbutt to Lee. Rey Mysterio exited the ring to help his partner. However, the man slammed him into the ring apron before hitting him with a German suplex. As if this move and the mask that read out “American Made” did not make it obvious enough, the man threw up two fingers on both his arms, clearly hinting that this was none other than Gable.
Security guards rushed to the scene and pulled Gable over the barricade. However, the former Olympian escaped their grasp and ran through the crowd. Meanwhile, inside the ring, The New Day took advantage of this opportunity and won by pinning Mysterio.
Gable has a lot of trouble with the LWO himself. He has been trying his best to find an antidote against the Luchadors. He has been a part of many hilarious skits where he is pursuing the dark arts of lucha libre. Last week, he was seen walking around the streets of Mexico, showing random people a photo. He eventually ran into an old man, who handed him a box. The 39-year-old opened the box and smiled upon looking at its contents.
His latest antic apparently involves embracing the Mexican style and becoming an American luchador himself. The box he received likely contained this attire. While these skits have been hilarious, Gable has not participated in a match since the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble. Furthermore, his last singles match on Raw took place over two months ago when Penta made his WWE debut and beat him in a stellar match.
Chad Gable denies being the man in the luchador mask
After this match between the LWO and The New Day, Chad Gable was interviewed backstage by Cathy Kelley. The latter asked the American-made member why he attacked Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee earlier in the night. The 39-year-old denied being the one who attacked the LWO. Furthermore, he said that he had no idea who the masked man was.
Kelley told him to quit lying, as that man had the same build as the Minnesotan and even used the same moves. Gable continued to deny the allegations and even blamed the security guards by ringside. The Raw superstar said that they should have taken the masked man out before he even got involved in the match.
Cathy Kelley still did not seem too convinced. However, as Gable was defending his position, the masked man was seen being dragged by security at the same time while the interviewer was still talking to the former Tag Team Champion.
