The F1 world was taken aback by the shock signing of Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari for the 2025 season. People have wondered about how it affects the relationship between Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz knowing that they will no longer be teammates. The Monegasque driver has now reacted to the pressing issue.
The Spaniard has been left as a free agent for the 2025 season, following the news of his departure from the Scuderia. He was looking for a contract extension with the team but has been pipped out by the seven-time champion. The Monegasque has been close to Sainz since he joined Ferrari, and has now given his view on same.
In respect to Carlos[Sainz], i don't want to comment too much on that [lewis joining the team] because Carlos is still my teammate and we went through a lot together.Charles Leclerc told Sky Sports 4.
The 5-time winner didn’t give any major answers to the question in people’s mind. However, this statement from the 26-year-old shows that his bond with the Spaniard was important and valuable for him as he stayed respectful towards Sainz’s situation.

What was Charles Leclerc’s reaction to the SF-24?
The Monegasque was filled with optimism when the car was unveiled at Maranello. He had earlier done some simulator testing and reckoned this year’s car to be faster than the SF-23.
According to him, the car had addressed the issues that the Monegasque and the Spaniard had put up earlier. He claims that the engineers at Maranello had fixed those issues and an evolution of the SF-23 is in front of us.
Both Leclerc and Sainz are keen to test out the car and are waiting eagerly for the pre-season testing. Their claim of taking down the Red Bulls will be a challenging task and time; time will only tell how the Italians fare out in front of the Austrian giant.
