Chennaiyin FC sign Jobby Justin on two-year deal

Two-time Indian Super League champions Chennaiyin FC have announced the signing of Indian strike Jobby Justin on a multi-year deal.

The 27-year old striker represented East Bengal between 2017-2019 in the I-League, where he scored 11 goals in 26 appearances. He joined ATK and played nine games for the Kolkata-based club. He also found the net once during his debut ISL season.

Last season, he didn’t make a single appearance for ATK Mohun Bagan. The Trivandrum-born strike will don the yellow jersey for the next couple of Indian Super League seasons. On signing a contract with the Super Machans, he said:

“I am really happy to receive an offer from a renowned club like Chennaiyin FC. Being a South Indian, I always wanted to play for a south-based team and when a prestigious club like Chennaiyin FC came calling, it was an easy decision for me,” Justin exclaimed.

“I have a lot of expectations lined up with this signing and the most important one is being a part of the first team. Another important one will be to shower the club with as many achievements as I can. Finally, I would love to express all my love and gratitude to my family, friends and most importantly to my fans who stood by me throughout my highs and lows,” the forward, who had made his national team debut during the 2019 Intercontinental Cup, added.

Jobby Justin made his international debut against Tajikistan during the 2019 Intercontinental Cup. He came off the bench at the 88th minute and played for six minutes. The Indian striker has three national team appearances to date and will look to impress the coach by putting up his best show for the Chennai-based club in the upcoming edition of the ISL.
