Andy Reid’s Kansas City Chiefs are 3-0 for the seventh time in his tenure as head coach. On Sunday, the Chiefs travel to Allegiant Stadium to play rivals the Las Vegas Raiders, who are also 3-0.

Ahead of the big clash, a reporter reminded coach Reid that he was tied for most wins at the Raiders’ stadium with 6. Reid said that he wasn’t aware.

Thank you. I didn’t know that, and I don’t really care.

Andy Reid said via Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team.

According to Ari Meirov, Reid is tied with former Raiders coaches Josh McDaniels and Antonio Pierce on 6 wins. One of those wins came in the 2023-24 Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.

Andy Reid is fourth on the NFL’s winningest coach list with 310 wins (including playoffs). Only Don Shula, George Halas, and Bill Belichick have won more games.

Reid took over as the Chiefs’ head coach in 2013. He has posted just one losing season (2025) and has failed to win at least 10 games twice. The Chiefs have won the AFC West nine times. From 2019 to 2024, Reid led the Chiefs to five Super Bowl appearances and won three.

The Philadelphia Eagles appointed Reid as head coach in 1999. The Eagles won the NFC East six times and the conference title once. In 2004-05, the Eagles lost to Belichick’s New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Andy Reid is not taking the Raiders lightly

Reid boasts a stellar 21-5 record against the Raiders (including his win with the Eagles). But Sunday’s game will be a lot trickier than other fixtures in recent memory. The Raiders are unbeaten after three games and look like a team that can beat anyone on their day.

Moreover, the Raiders fanbase is hungry for wins. Since moving to Vegas, the Raiders have played postseason football just once (2021). In fact, they have qualified for the playoffs just twice since 2002, when they reached the Super Bowl.

Reid believes the newfound confidence and the hunger to defeat divisional rivals will make it a competitive affair.

Yeah, I think it’ll be a great atmosphere for a football game. I think they’ve done a nice job of improving their football team. This is what it’s all about, and I think it’ll be great for the fans. It’s a heck of a rivalry over the years, and the better the two teams are, the better the rivalry. So, this is what it’s all about.

The Raiders are not about to pull any punches. Star pass rusher Maxx Crosby made it very clear they were itching to get a win in this fixture.

It’s war. There’s no other words needed. You know what I mean? That’s as simple as that. So, yeah I can’t wait. There’s a lot of work to be done till we get there, but, yeah, it’s war.

Maxx Crosby said on his podcast

The series finished 1-1 last year. In October, the Chiefs humiliated the Raiders in a 31-0 victory. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw 3 touchdowns, and WR Rashee Rice caught 2 of them.

They met on the final day for the reverse fixture. Mahomes wasn’t available due to an injury he picked up a couple of weeks earlier. Shane Buechele and Chris Oladokun shared snaps at quarterback. Field goals decided the outcome and the Raiders won 14-12.
