The reigning Super Bowl champions seem to have gone viral after an inside image of their Super Bowl ring has been spotted with a typo. It’s the Kansas City Chiefs’ third Super Bowl ring in the last five years, worth $40,000 each.

Designing Super Bowl rings not only involves fancy money but also great effort and time. That’s why, their one little mistake caught many off-guard. If it were to be rectified, it would cost the franchise quite a hefty amount. The inside portion of the ring showcases the Chiefs’ path to the Super Bowl championship, featuring the seeds of each team they took down.

That’s where things get tricky! Conference rivals the Miami Dolphins have been listed as the No. 7 seed in the AFC. But in reality, they were the sixth seed. All the other teams such as the Buffalo Bills at No. 2, the Baltimore Ravens at No.1, and the San Francisco 49ers at No.1 have been mentioned accurately. Fox Sports anchor Harold R. Kuntz tweeted about it on X, highlighting the typo in the Chiefs Super Bowl rings that many have spotted.

Some have noted .. but the Dolphins were a 6 seed, not a 7. Hopefully, this is a graphic error and not an error on everyone's ring -- although they may not care and it would be an pretty big expense to change them all.

Although there’s a possibility that this mistake could be only a graphic error, it would cost the franchise quite an expensive price to rectify it.

Chiefs Unveil Super Bowl ring with 529 diamonds

The franchise hasn’t officially revealed the total cost of making the fancy Super Bowl ring, but it’s estimated to be surely above $11,000 per ring– which was the cost of their Super Bowl in 2020. According to James Palmer, it comprises 529 diamonds and 38 rubies.

The Chiefs have added a creative twist to the jewels, each having some symbolism behind it. Such as 16 rubies reflecting their 16 outright division titles, 58 diamonds in the ring top as a tribute to Super Bowl 58, which they won, and 11 custom-cut rubies for their 11 regular seasons victory.

There’s also a hidden hatch on top of the ring, which is another creative brilliancy as it displays a “Tom and Jerry” play breakdown as the ring opens up. It’s for the play call run in the Super Bowl game against the Niners, where Mecole Hardman succeeded with a game-winning touchdown.
