Every person is entitled to their opinion, even if they are a conservative Catholic like Harrison Butker. Yet only a day after his speech about women having been fed ‘diabolical lies’ from society, social media police started working extra time to possibly impose a ban on the Kansas City Chiefs placekicker.

Butker, who won three Super Bowls with the Chiefs, attended the commencement ceremony at Benedictine College in Atchison last week as a special guest speaker. Being a devout Catholic, the 28-year-old is proud of his heritage and religion.

However, according to him, Catholic society has been ensnared by crumbling societal changes. And the women have suffered the most because of the change.

Butker highlighted that women who venture out into the outside world for jobs most of the time miss out on motherhood and the comforts of their homes. To back his statement, he gave the example of his wife Isabelle, whom he married back in 2018.

Social media users are unhappy with Harrison Butker’s alleged misogynistic and sexist statements

Pride filled in Butker’s voice as he spoke about his wife.

My beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her [vocation as a wife] and as a mother. I’m on this stage today, able to be the man that I am, because I have a wife who leans into her vocation.

In the era of third-wave feminism and the revolution of gender equality, Butker’s comments not only stung a section of society, but now they even want the NFL to put a ban on the Georgia Tech graduate like Colin Kaepernick.

Butker has also made an enemy of the ‘Swifties’. The fan group of 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift was outraged after he used a lyric from her song while speaking about Pride Month.

Butker used the lyrics from the song “Bejeweled,” in which Swift says “familiarity breeds contempt.”

Former Kansas City commissioner Justice Horn tweeted out that Harrison Butker doesn’t represent the city of Kansas.

Kansas City has always been a place that welcomes, affirms, and embraces our LGBTQ+ community members.
Justice Horn wrote

It will continue to boil down to which side gives up first. Butker should have been aware of what he was getting into before trying to anger a whole host of people.
