Sean O’Malley and Chito Vera had an incredible rivalry. This rivalry ultimately culminated in their rematch at UFC 299. Chito lost by decision but he learned some things from that fight, which he shared on Rampage Jackson‘s podcast.
Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera recently sat down for a conversation with Rampage Jackson. During their discussion on the ‘JAXXON PODCAST’, Vera revealed that he had turned almost blind from one of O’Malley’s shots in the fifth round.
But in the fifth round, there was one punch that nearly hit me in the eyeball. And I was f*****g fully blind, I was closing my eyes because it was two f****** guys. I could gave up there but I don't wanna live another day. It could work, almost worked so it is experience. Now I know a little more activity when things are like that.Chito Vera on JAXXON Podcast
They first fought in 2020 at UFC 252. Vera won that fight via TKO in the first round, staining O’Malley’s MMA record with the only loss of his career yet. However, after becoming the bantamweight champion last year O’Malley got his revenge by taking on Vera for his first title defense.
Suga and Chito’s fight went the distance. Vera had started putting some pressure on Sean O’Malley towards the end but it was already the fifth round. According to Vera, he could have made a comeback if he had thirty seconds or a minute more but the Ecuadorian does not want to make any excuses.
Marlon Vera is willing to wear Conor McGregor on his shorts
UFC’s policy on sponsorships has changed over the years. Fighters would have their own sponsors back in the day. However, after Reebok signed the exclusive partnership deal with the UFC, fighters lost their sponsorships. However, this has not dimmed the ideas of Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera.
During Chito Vera’s recent appearance on the ‘JAXXON Podcast,’ he made an interesting proposition to bring sponsorships back. The Ecuadorian bantamweight proposed that he was willing to wear UFC star Conor McGregor’s face on his shorts if the Irish superstar would sponsor him.
I am going to ask him to sponsor me. Come on Conor. In the UFC? Oh I could put his face on my shorts. Come on.Chito Vera on JAXXON Podcast
Conor McGregor has sponsored many events throughout the years. He sponsored his own fight at UFC 246 against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone through Proper 12. However, it is unlikely that the UFC would let Conor McGregor sponsor Chito Vera even if he wanted to. Nonetheless, the Ecuadorian can always consider a career at BKFC where McGregor is now an owner.
