In a tweet, Hemsworth referred to Mirabai as a “legend,” expressing his admiration for her. Most notably, Chanu was victorious in the women’s 49 kilogramme competition at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where she was awarded the gold medal.

Chanu, who won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics and is currently competing in the Commonwealth Games, successfully lifted 201 kg earlier this week to win the gold medal in her event. She began the competition by lifting 88 kg, which she did successfully in the Snatch event. In the following division, the Clean and Jerk, she lifted 113 kg. Chanu’s outstanding performance in the Snatch event was instrumental in her setting a new record for the Commonwealth.
