It looks like Chris Paul has still not gotten over what happened between him and the Los Angeles Clippers. On Wednesday night, the Clippers suffered a heartbreaking 126-121 defeat to the Golden State Warriors at the Intuit Dome. The loss officially ended any postseason hopes for the franchise.
Following the loss, Paul took to his social media to fire a shot at the Clippers. He posted the iconic image of popular hip-hop artist Big Fendi posing at the funeral of one of his haters.

The image posted by Chris Paul indicates that the former Clippers star is still unhappy with how things went down with the organization. Things looked good at first after Paul returned to the franchise after eight years. Unfortunately, the unceremonious exit of the 12-time All-Star did not go down well with the player and the NBA world.
There have been a lot of reports and rumors surrounding his sudden exit, but it was a shocking move by the club, considering Paul had announced that the 2025-26 campaign would be his final season in the NBA. However, on the night when the Clippers fanbase will be mourning, Paul appears to be the happiest man alive after the team’s elimination.
Despite being waived off by the Clippers, Paul had still not announced his retirement. The Clippers announced that they will work with Paul’s camp to find him a new team. At the trade deadline, Paul was shipped to the Toronto Raptors but was waived off immediately. The 40-year-old eventually announced his retirement after being left unsigned by any NBA team.
Fans react to Chris Paul’s Instagram story trolling the LA Clippers
It was supposed to be the perfect ending to an illustrious career for Chris Paul. But things fell apart very quickly. The club were in a mess both on and off the court. It was an unfortunate ending to a spectacular NBA career.
Paul’s latest Instagram story went viral quickly and generated a lot of interest across social media.
Lmao it's true though, we tossed away a guys farewell tour, smashed our goodwill with future agents all to only get bounced and placed in the 10th seed.

Chris Paul really waited 5 months, dusted off the suit, and hit 'post' like 'you're welcome for the early success, now suffer.'

Fans found the image posted by Paul to be hilarious. In the end, he was done dirty by the organization. Paul is arguably the greatest player in Clippers history and gave relevancy to the franchise. He ushered the franchise’s “Lob City” era alongside Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
Los Angeles Clippers were better without Chris Paul
It has been a turbulent 2025-26 campaign for the Clippers. The season could be summarized in two halves. While the way they handled Paul’s situation was disappointing, they have improved significantly since his exit.

At the time of Paul’s exit, the Clippers were at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a 5-16 record. But their form began to shift in December as they ended the campaign at ninth place with a 42-40 record.
It is unfair to blame Paul for the Clippers’ early-season struggles, but it was reported that the point guard’s growing authority and influence negatively impacted the team’s structure. It may have worked as the Clippers went 37-24 after his exit. But Paul had the final laugh after their playoff ambitions came to an end at the hands of Stephen Curry and the Warriors, who will go on to face the Phoenix Suns for the eight seed.
