It’s very nice that Lewis has so much care and attention [for Checo] when he was questioning the validity of Max’s teammates only a few weeks ago.

Horner said, as reported by F1.com

A month ago, following the Italian GP qualifying, Hamilton questioned the strength of Max Verstappen’s teammates, stating that his teammates were stronger and more consistent. Lately, rumors about the Mexican’s potential retirement have set the paddock abuzz with rumors; Horner downplayed the gossip, saying:

There's always rumours that are circulating in this paddock, especially when there's very little to write about. But he [Checo] has a great relationship with the team, a strong relationship with his teammate, and we want to see him finish 2nd in the championship, which is something we've never achieved before — to have a one-two."

Amidst retirement rumors, Perez and Red Bull deny such plans. Hamilton’s comments intensify the scrutiny on Perez’s performance ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix. Red Bull stays focused despite clinching the 2023 F1 titles, treating the remaining races as crucial. Perez and Hamilton are in a battle for the runner-up spot, making it an intriguing showdown.
