The entire landscape of the men’s WarGames match got altered on this week’s Raw with both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar entering the field. While Lesnar is Paul Heyman‘s trump card and has joined the likes of Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, and Drew McIntyre, the grass is not so green on the other side. The following exchange is exactly why that is so.

WWE posted an unaired dialogue between CM Punk and Roman Reigns across its digital platforms. As the viewers can easily sense, both men don’t see eye to eye. In fact, the ‘Second City Saint’ told Reigns that if he were to join his team for WarGames and try stabbing him in the back, Punk would go after ‘The OTC’ as an enemy. The latter retorted with saying that he doesn’t stab people in their backs.

As for Punk, Reigns said he’ll look the World Heavyweight Champion in his eyes and will put that knife in his heart. This lore between two of WWE’s biggest stars could balloon into a potential WrestleMania clash. It’s imperative to note that these men were involved in a triple-threat match at this year’s WrestleMania itself.

‘The Cookie Master’ had Heyman in his corner as the favor he was due after helping Reigns and his family in last year’s WarGames match. ‘The Wiseman’, however, betrayed both Punk and Reigns in the climax to align himself with Seth Rollins. Heyman has assembled a five-member faction to tackle the star-studded team of Reigns, Punk, Cody Rhodes, and The Usos.

Although the ‘Tribal Chief’ has yet to be formally welcomed by the babyfaces, it could happen as early as this week’s SmackDown or by next week at the latest. ‘The Head of the Table’ apparently doesn’t care about either Punk or Rhodes and only came out on Raw to back his cousins up. A fan video has surfaced online where Reigns could be seen telling The Usos to watch their backs from Punk and Rhodes.

What CM Punk did for John Cena after Raw went off-air?

After Roman Reigns had seemingly exited the ringside area, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and The Usos remained there for a special cause. ‘The Best in the World’ took center stage for giving a farewell speech to John Cena. The ex-AEW star began by saying that when he debuted on the WWE main roster in 2006, Cena was the poster boy of the company.

Around a year later, when Rhodes made his WWE debut, Cena was still steering the ship around there. ‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ mentioned how Cena had his last Raw match inside MSG in front of the greatest wrestling audience in the world. For the unversed, the 17-time world champion teamed up with Rey Mysterio and Sheamus to defeat The Judgment Day in a 6-man tag team match to kick off Raw.

Circling back to Punk for a bit, he asked the people in the production truck to play Cena’s theme song after hilariously mimicking it for a while. Punk got to share the ring with Cena on a number of occasions this year. First off, they met in the 30-man Royal Rumble match. However, their actual one-on-one interaction didn’t happen until these great rivals stepped inside the Elimination Chamber.

They turned the clock back with their unmatched chemistry. The match ending saw the Peacemaker actor taking advantage of Seth Rollins’ frustration with ‘The Second City Saint’. Cena locked an already down-and-out Punk into an STF, and it was enough to make the Chicagoan pass out. A few months later, CM Punk unsuccessfully challenged Cena for the Undisputed WWE title at Night of Champions.
