“Just like in the past,” CM Punk subtly references the infamous AEW ‘Brawl Out’ incident after beating Drew McIntyre at Bash in Berlin

CM Punk doesn't like it when someone messes around with his dog with its proof dating back to the AEW All Out post-show fallout from 2022.

While boarding the flight to Germany, CM Punk only had one thing in mind: to hurt Drew McIntyre as badly as he could. And he didn’t bottle up at all, as The Second City Saint ousted the Scot after a hellacious strap match at Bash in Berlin. It marked Punk’s first WWE singles win in over a decade. After the show, he was interviewed by Jackie Redmond.

And Punk, though quite subtly, referenced the notorious ‘Brawl Out’ scuffle he was a part of. When Redmond asked Punk what his wife, AJ Lee, had told him before the match with Drew, The Best in the World divulged that AJ asked him to punish McIntyre for disrespecting their beloved dog, Larry. Punk had it on cue as he delivered on his wife’s promise. The 45-year-old reaffirmed that he hurts anyone and everyone who messes up with his dog, just like he did in the past.

For those who’re oblivious to what that means, CM Punk was previously involved in a physical confrontation with The Elite, viz., The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, following AEW All Out pay-par-view in 2022. During that melee, Punk’s dog was reportedly injured. A later visit to the vet resulted in the removal of two of Larry’s teeth.

A few months ago, Kenny Omega revealed that he was the one who escorted Punk’s dog out of harm’s way. Omega ensured the safety of the innocuous pet. Nonetheless, that’s a thing of the past. And following a massive coup at Bash in Berlin, The Second City Saint is off to bigger and better things. Punk’s confirmed that he’ll be at Raw this Monday in Denver.

What’s next for CM Punk after a memorable outing at Bash in Berlin?

In one of his other interviews after his match, CM Punk said he’s finally done beefing with Drew McIntyre. The Chicagoan even salvaged the bracelet from McIntyre, which means the world to him. Punk told Raw backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley that he’s now eyeing some gold.

The former AEW star talked about Gunther‘s title defense against Randy Orton and hoped for the best man to win. However, he said so, as a better man is awaiting the winner, and that’s Punk himself. But, it doesn’t seem like Drew McIntyre will easily let go of what Punk did to him at Bash in Berlin.

They’re reportedly set for a third and decisive encounter next month. As per WRKD Wrestling, the two men are penciled in to square off inside Hell in a Cell at the Bad Blood PLE. Punk and Drew are one match apiece at the moment.
