Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul to battle it out at King and Queen of the Ring [via- WWE]
This week on SmackDown, WWE unveiled Cody Rhodes‘ opponent for King and Queen of the Ring. As introduced by General Manager Nick Aldis, United States Champion Logan Paul will entangle with The American Nightmare at the premium live event in Saudi Arabia on May 25. Based on the back-and-forth verbal sparring Rhodes and Paul had, it appeared as if both men would put their respective titles up for grabs.
And now, it seems to have been confirmed. Quoting a reply to the official promulgation of their match on X, Cody Rhodes said that it would be for all the gold. That has to mean it’s title vs. title. However, the official preview of the bout on WWE’s website still enlists it as a Champion vs. Champion showdown, with absolutely no mention of which strap will be on the line.
As the fans witnessed on Friday night, Cody is indeed gunning to capture the United States Championship to become a grand slam champion in WWE. It’s the only title that has eluded The Prodigal Son his entire career. Next week on SmackDown, the former AEW EVP, Rhodes, will put pen to paper along with Logan Paul in a traditional contract signing.

It’s only been a week since Cody flattened AJ Styles to successfully retain his Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash. In a topsy-turvy encounter that even received a five-star rating from veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, the 38-year-old prevailed. It was nothing but pandemonium out there at the LDLC Arena while the two wrestlers left their all inside that squared circle. Styles had to break character to extol the boisterous ambience.

There’s no denying the fact that Cody Rhodes’ maiden title defense against AJ Styles was a barn-burner. However, it seems these come-and-go appetizers are nothing but a way to keep the champ on the move until Roman Reigns and The Rock return.
Recently, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided a sneak peek into Rhodes’ WrestleMania 41 plans. Per the outlet, Dusty Rhodes‘ son is pegged to face The Rock at The Showcase of the Immortals next year.
An idea that’s being discussed is that The Great One wants to put his People’s Championship on the line, while Cody will follow suit with the Undisputed WWE title. But there’s nothing set in stone, as it’s not certain whether The American Nightmare will be holding the gold until ‘Mania in 2025.
