Cody Rhodes has been a fighting champion since becoming the world champion at WrestleMania XL. Amid his ongoing rivalry against AJ Styles, WWE has already decided who’s going to be his next opponent to challenge him in his title reign. That superstar is none other than the new version of The Bloodline’s leader, Solo Sikoa, according to reports.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Solo Sikoa is planned to be the next big destination match opponent. The two superstars share a great history of rivalry, as The Enforcer was the one who stopped Cody Rhodes from finishing the story at WrestleMania 39. Meanwhile, The American Nightmare was the one who handed “The New Tribal Chief” his first-ever loss on the main roster.

The 31-year-old star has adopted a completely new persona after Roman Reigns‘ loss at WrestleMania XL. First, he introduced Tama Tonga as the new member of The Bloodline and kicked Jimmy Uso out for his failure at the Show of Shows. Following that, Tonga Loa joined the dominant faction by attacking Kevin Owens and Randy Orton at Backlash in France. With The Bloodline by his side, he could become a legitimate threat to Rhodes.

While Solo is not scheduled to wrestle at Clash at the Castle, The American Nightmare will have to put his title on the line. However, this won’t be a normal match, as one of either Rhodes or Styles has to utter the words, “I Quit,” for it to end. It will be interesting to see whether the 38-year-old star continues his title reign by beating The Phenomenal One once again or not.

Fans reacted to the news of Solo Sikoa reportedly becoming the next opponent for Cody Rhodes

As soon as the news surfaced online that the next ‘big destination’ match for Rhodes appeared to be Solo, fans wasted no time discussing it on social media. While some fans showed their excitement about their potential match, others didn’t see him as a legitimate competitor.

One fan showed absolutely no interest in seeing the matchup between them and said the WWE Universe didn’t want that. Another fan admitted that although the feud won’t be that interesting, storyline-wise, it indeed made sense. Meanwhile, some fans were ready to accept The Enforcer as their new world champion. One user predicted an outcome that saw Roman Reigns interfering in the match, ultimately costing Solo his title shot. Another user stated the logical reason for him to be Rhodes’ next opponent, as there were no credible heels on SmackDown. Overall, fans seemed very skeptical about the potential feud between the longtime rivals.
