WWE continues to set record-breaking profits following a financially strong 2023. Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without their stars. Having said that, the popularity of the wrestlers on the roster reflects on their merchandise and ticket sales. Recently, Wrestlenomics released the list of the highest merchandise sellers of this year so far. And, to no surprise, Cody Rhodes is on top.

Since his return to WWE, The American Nightmare has been portrayed as the ‘ace’ of the promotion. After a two-year enticing build, Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania to become Undisputed WWE Champion. Later, reports disclosed that he sold over $1 million in merchandise during that weekend only. Therefore, proving why he is the hand-picked guy to usher in this “new” era of the company.

Also on the list is “Main Event” Jey Uso, who’s been on a meteoric rise since leaving The Bloodline. Speaking of the faction, The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, is in the top 5 despite being absent for most of the year. While CM Punk‘s injury has kept him out of in-ring action, fans have lined up to purchase his merchandise. Since his return, The Second City Saint has been consistently one of the top merchandise sellers for the company.

The most shocking addition to the list might be “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Having retired more than two decades ago, the Rattlesnake’s iconic 3:16 t-shirt continues to be one of the most sought-after wrestling merchandises. For those unaware, Austin is currently signed to a Legends deal with WWE.

Cody Rhodes was tricked and blindsided by AJ Styles on SmackDown

AJ Styles addressed the WWE Universe on the most recent episode of SmackDown. Accompanied by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, he revealed that he wanted to devote more time to being a better father. Before leaving the ring, the Phenomenal One invited Cody Rhodes to the ring.

The two shared a warm embrace before Styles attacked him. Clearly, the Undisputed WWE Champion had been Mark Henry‘d by the veteran, who delivered a Styles Clash from the steel steps onto the floor. The Georgia natives clashed at Backlash France, with Rhodes coming out on top in an enthralling encounter.

Last week, Styles demanded one more title shot from SmackDown GM Nick Aldis. However, after being denied, he seemingly concocted a plan to lure The American Nightmare. Needless to say, it worked successfully, as the former United States Champion certainly has Rhodes’ attention now.
