Colorado’s star Travis Hunter has officially taken the No. 1 overall projection for next year’s NFL Draft and it looks like he’s already eyeing a team he wants to join– Denver Broncos.
Among the many talents set to debut in the 2025 NFL Draft, Colorado Buffaloes star wide receiver– arguably the best of his position in college football, is projected to be the first overall pick as per a recent mock draft. When asked about which team he would want to get picked by, Hunter named the Broncos.
Besides Denver, the wide receiver does not have any other team in mind. As he shared, his goal for the past couple of years has only been to be the first overall pick in his NFL Draft.
Receiving isn’t the only position Hunter excels at. He’s also a standout cornerback. In the future, the 21-year-old doesn’t want to give up either of his position, that’s why he plans to be a two-way star in the NFL.
Shedeur Sanders declares Travis Hunter more deserving to be the first pick
Interestingly, Hunter isn’t the only Colorado star aiming to be the first pick. Hunter’s goal for the No.1 overall draft pick is contradicting his friend and teammate Shedeur Sanders, who shares the same aspirations. Up until now, Sanders was projected for the No. 1 pick and remains the same on the Big Board of many NFL draft experts.
But when he was asked about the draft projections, the Colorado quarterback firmly said that Hunter deserves it more as being the “best player in college football.” He also admitted admiring his wide receiver’s gameplay, during his episode of his 2Legendary podcast.
In the last five games, Hunter has logged 561 yards with 46 receptions and six touchdowns– solidifying his name for the Heisman Trophy. However, his dream is much more prominent than that, as he admitted, the dream of playing in the National Football league.
